Rethinking circularity in bioeconomy #3 The politics and practice of care in the circular economy

We invite you to the webinar “The politics and practice of care in the circular economy”.

In the third webinar of CIRCLE webinar series “Rethinking circularity in bioeconomy” you will hear about the ethical and care dimensions of the circular economy. While numerous studies examine technological and economic issues related to the circular economy, few examine ethical aspects, even though these are crucial for ensuring that the circular economy aligns with foundational values, moral dispositions, and everyday practices. This webinar contributes to efforts to bridge this gap. It consists of two presentations followed by a general discussion. The first presentation discusses the connection between the circular economy and the ethics of care, offering a relational perspective on waste. The second draws on the literature on agri-care to explore what it means to care in circularity-based industrial agriculture.

Speakers: Aiste Bartkiene, Vilnius University; Renata Bikauskaite, Vilnius University; and Diana Mincyte, City University of New York and Vilnius University.

The webinar will take place on Monday, February 26, 2024; 15:00-16:30 CET on Zoom.

Language: English
