Reduce, reuse, recycle and recover

The widespread adoption of the reduce, reuse, recycle and recover principles inherent in the circular economy is a core aspect of future proof development that aims to reduce waste and increase efficient use of resources.

In the European Union’s new Green Deal Circular Economy Action Plan the circular economy is expected to propel the smart and inclusive growth of European economies, while tackling pressing environmental challenges and sustaining and reproducing the environmental and resource base of human society.

Furthermore, the principle of circular resource use is envisioned as gradually becoming a cornerstone of the economic and social fabric of our societies, stimulated with forward-looking policies, responsible research and innovation, and collective action.
